Last Sunday was my birthday. My daughter set out to give me the best birthday ever…

First off was a schedule. My schedule included an hour to take a walk, time to play games, afternoon tea, picking a movie of my choice (I chose the 1945 version of “And Then There Were None” when we realized “The Sure THing” isn’t even available on streaming), and most importantly, they took an hour walk and it was the first time in nine weeks that I had been alone…

You have no idea how much that meant to me.

I am not the type of person who is meant to be around people 24/7…

Seriously…

  1. Looks yummy, love the coasters…Pride and Prejudice is a favourite of mine too! Did you spin around the empty rooms, arms outstretched like in The Sound of Music?

    1. Omg is was wonderful to have no one asking me anything! I got out Instyle magazine and watched Dead to Me with another Bellini. It was perfection…seriously…best gift ever…

  2. I keep coming back to that detail…”they took an hour walk.” That touches me. Your daughter is wise. Best gifts don’t have to cost a lot of money…. I liked this post. Happy belated birthday LA! DM

      1. Good morning LA..Quick question/ favor, when you have time…if you click on my avatar/ name in my comment, will it take you to my farm blog now, or still to that dormant site?

  3. Your birthday you so very you! It’s almost like your girl knows you or something πŸ˜‰
I’m overjoyed you were celebrated so appropriately, especially an hour to yourself!

  4. Afternoon tea is the absolute best! I missed mine this year, but will surely return to it as my preferred way to celebrate in future. Glad to hear about the Bellini … I generally manage to combine my tea outing with cocktails or champagne (sometimes both) πŸ˜€ Cheers!

  5. What an incredibly wonderful birthday! I’m so glad the pandemic didn’t rob you of this, and probably made it even more special. As for the walk alone…I understand completely. I love people, but I also love my alone time. I’m so glad you go that!
