Yesterday morning I was reading posts. I went to comment on a post written by Nananoyz, and wasn’t able to. I did the usual WordPress reboot, and not only could I not comment, the post disappeared! I contacted nana, and told her I thought there might be a problem. She thanked me, and a little bit later her post was up and running.

When it came time to write my post, I had a very hard time publishing. I finally got it posted, and a little bit later I recieved a note on one of my other posts from Ally- “it’s a fact- I can’t comment on todays post”. My post had publsihed, but without a comment section: and we all know that is my favorite part of my posts… so I cursed a little as I tried to figure out what happened…which I never did figure out the cause, but after posting, deleing and reposting about a thousand times, I finally got the comment section to appear…(though I continued to have WordPress issues all day yesterday…)

So long story longer…I am grateful for our little blogging community that watches out for one another, and reaches out when we think something is amiss. We get by with a little help from our friends…

  1. I had that same comment issue recently. Apparently itโ€™s a box to check (at least on the blocks version) that sometimes defaults to off. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ Very annoying. But it was the lovely WP family that helped me spot and solve the issue ๐Ÿ˜Š

      1. I am seeing your posts clearly and enjoying the blog about Tina Turner. I chose that song for when I go to the health club to work out. I find it very inspirational when I see all these body builders and tattooed guys and they seem positively intimidating to all 5 feet 6 inches of me. Thanks for this post.

  2. I keep getting an icon at the top which gives me a different format for WordPress but it is only when I read certain pages. Usually the pages are not the bloggers I follow, but by searching randomly and typing in words. Sometimes they show up on their own. For example: in my last post, it showed up and I clicked it on. The format is great to read, very easy. Does this happen to you?

  3. I had the same issue on my friend John’s blog yesterday. I left a comment . . no dice. Left it again, nada. I refreshed, still no. I went back later and was able to finally leave a comment.

WP gremlins doing their due diligence I’m guessing.

  4. I have several comments and replies on my own latest blog post that are listed in the dashboard as being accepted and published but have not appeared on the blog itself…and I did the usual re-boots etc and still nothing.
My biggest fear is two-fold: 1-the blog itself is deteriorating? and 2- the lovely bloggers who took time to comment on my post will think I’m being rude…and get ‘hurt’ about that.
Dumb I know. But there it is.

  5. WordPress issues….. tell me about it! Followers have commented saying my posts no longer appear in their Reader? I’ve apparently unfollowed blogs when I haven’t? No idea what’s going on LA, but I should always remind myself blogging and commenting on WordPress is free, yes it has gremlins but brings endless enjoyment ๐Ÿ™‚ .

  6. Somewhere on the WordPress.Com site is a group of bloggers who help the rest of us with the ins and outs of the site. I believe the group was started because of the negative response to the site’s so-call improvements. I will go on a search for this group and put the information at the bottom of my blog.

  7. I think it’s a common problem, as every once in a while I come across a blog I read regularly that no longer has an option for comments. If that happens and the blogger leaves a comment on my blog, I use that to let them know. Otherwise, I always feel a bit helpless to point out the problem!
